In the 1960s, when most ad agencies employed women only as secretaries, Judy Protas wrote some of the copy for which Doyle Dayne Bernbach became famous. Her best known and most enduring campaign was this one:
Ms. Protas was described as “working quietly and out of the limelight” while the men of DDB took credit for her best work. To quote Nancy Vonk of Swim, “Not right then, not right now. Own that spotlight, women.”
